I decided to change my name to Rachel's Mom's--Nordic Bohemian because the history of felting has some of its roots in Scandinavia. The Bohemian comes from my free will to pick up my projects and head to fabulous shows and festivals!
I first discovered the felting process when I bought a very unique hat at a show I had attended. I knew it was something special but could not figure out how it was made. I asked my friends about it and they said it was knit and wet felted. No it wasn't, it was more than that, I just had to figure it out. Then I discovered the felting process and had to delve into it! I haven't stopped since!
I offer a variety of handmade and original designs, using the felting method. I needle felt or wet felt most of my projects. No project comes out the way I had envisioned it!
I am happy with my truck filled to the top with original and splendid goodies. I am excited to meet new people, and always do in this environment. I am inspired by other vendors and the items they offer. I can't help but think that my grandmother is smiling down at me as I make my way to another adventure!
I truly enjoy the creative process; from my technicolor dreams, to finding inspiration in everyday tasks, to the wonderful feeling that comes with finishing a project. I don't live in a black, white, or beige world. I love color, design, and texture. Plain cramps my style and prohibits my creative energy and potential!
I attend several events throughout the year, and also do trunk shows upon request. I take great pride and joy in my designs and in the process. Hats, bags, scarves, gloves, and belts that I create have given me tremendous pleasure and satisfaction. Felting has literally changed my life!!
